Trip to Algonquin Park

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

AJ and I went to Algonquin Park on Oct 1. Yeah yeah, I know, that was weeks ago…total slacker.
Never trust the weatherman…we booked our days off in advance since the weather was supposedly be good. Unfortunately it was cloudy and rainy all day long.

Surprisingly some pictures turn out nice. The raw picture was dark grayish, I was about to scrap it away. Curiously, I slide some buttons to brighten it, and suddenly got this beautiful picture:

And this is, I think, my next best shot, and also my favorite:

Remembrance Day

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

We had an extended long weekend, with a day off on Monday and the Remembrance Day on Tuesday. Today we stayed at home relaxing, but last year we went to the Niagara.

Here is some pictures taken on the Remembrance Day 2007, at the Niagara Parks Heritage Trail.

Dragons Encircling the Pearl

Sunday, November 9th, 2008

One of my favorites from this year’s lantern festival. I like dragons.

From the 2008 Rogers Chinese Lantern Festival:

Dragons are an icon of Chinese good fortune; symbolic of strength, nobility, and imperial greatness. Pearls represent wisdom, truth and soul.
These dragons are posed reaching out eagerly to clutch at this elusive object; mouths open in anticipation of attaining the prize afforded by capturing the pearl.

Mysterious Forest

Friday, November 7th, 2008

When I see this tree in the Mysterious Forest’s Lantern Festival, it reminds me of the picture we took in Bellagio’s Botanical Garden back in March’08. Maybe because of the purplish colour…

From the 2008 Rogers Chinese Lantern Festival:

The mysterious forest creates a dream world of mystifying enchantments. This fantastic lantern set highlights the spectacular colours and magical atmosphere of this fantasy forest
